NOMAD ADVENTURES |
With most things Maggie came with pretty much everything which made many of our decisions easy, we stuck with the Eezi-Awn roof top tent. Many of today's roof top tents are much alike and it would simply have come down to price if we had to buy one ourselves, although some die hard fans would say Eezi-Awn as they started it all, in the end its what the pocket can afford that counts most. I did spend many a night debating what options would be best for flexibility, security and ease of setup. I had thought of a dome tent, but setting up and breaking down every night would need to be a concerted effort and after a long tiring day it may be a challenge and also the terrain would never be ideal. Having a rooftent the bed and everything is already setup for you, all you need to do is unfold and climb in. It also doubles as a shelter over the back door which is our cooking area.
It's also off the ground away from uninvited guests. We also purchased a shower skirt which when fitted will give us some protection from wind and rain when needed and sometimes some privacy. The roof tent does have it's draw backs, once you have setup you can't go anywhere without folding the roof tent back up. With enough planning we should be able to work around this, and with most things once you come to terms with the circumstances you tend to plan for them. Charlene thinks we could do with a little more space, being the smallest she seems to take up most of the bed??
