Ngorogoro Crater National Park

ADVENTURES

As you exit the Serengeti you enter Ngorogoro Crater. We decided we would spend one evening and day in the park and were lucky to be visited by some large elephants who came along to drink some water. Being used to the people they were not to worried by the flashing cameras and crowds who gathered to get a picture or two.

The next morning we headed into the crater and got to see clans of hyena making their way back to their dens after a night of hunting. As we continued to drive along a lioness walked out from the bushes along the side of the road. We stopped to watch her a while as she appeared to be looking for something as she walked across the road a few times and stopped to sit and call a few times. But we did not see anything arrive and eventually she crossed the road again towards a herd of wildebeest which she decided would be fun torturing with her presence however not actually hunting.

As our time was limited we unfortunately did not get to spend much more time driving around. But the crater itself is quite small and very busy with the amount of tour operators coming in that eventually it starts to look a bit like a drive through zoo with all the cars so we were happy to leave.
