ADVENTURES

Our first day in Tanzania was headed straight for the Serengeti. Arriving at midday we thought that our luck for seeing any animals was out and we would probably get to see most animals as we got closer to camp. But our luck was in and not even 30 min's in the park we came across three lionesses who had just made a kill and were feasting on the small impala.

Luckily for us we were not that interesting so we got to spend a few hours getting some great close ups before we had to continue our journey to our camp for the night. After feeding the 3 lionesses decided it was time to cool down and climbed into a small tree/bush where they managed to catch the slightest of breezes under their bellies.

We were spoilt for animal sightings in the Serengeti as we got to see lion everyday, cheetah, elephant and even the long faced hartebeest which is found on the plains of the Masai and Serengeti.

On our last day in the park we came across 4 lionesses that were stalking some antelope in the distance along the rivers edge. We were amazed at how persistent they were as they sat for hours in their formation (one lioness ahead who would chase the kill back towards the other 3 who were a bit further behind her and sitting in a triangle formation). We left them to it and drove a bit further down the road where we spotted the male sleeping under a tree whilst he was supposed to be babysitting the cubs.
