ADVENTURES

After leaving Hells Gate we headed to the Masai Mara National Park. We found a nice small camp which is run by local Masai and is right along the border of the park. We asked the Masai if he could recommend where we should go in the park to try and maximise our game viewing and he gave us a route to take early in the morning ensuring us that we would see lion.....mmmm we will see! So up early we headed straight into the park along the route he suggested and keeping an eye out for the ant hills we should see in the plains and then the pride of lions. True to his word we did see the pride in the middle of the road along with the cubs. We sat with the pride until it was time for them to head further into the plains and rest for the remainder of the day.

As we traveled through the park we got to see the great migration which had just arrived from the Serengeti. As you looked at the horizon you see small dark patches not knowing if it is clusters of trees or the herd of Wildebeest however as you approach the herd is more visible and you get to see the masses arriving. We waited along the rivers edge for the herd to cross but despite the few attempts made by the front runners they decided against it and turned around and we watched as the herd retreated to come back another day.
