Walking in the rainforest tree tops

NOMAD

ADVENTURES

First stop for the day – Kakum National Park which we were determined to find only to drive straight past the entrance (again!) and arriving at the same place we had the first time we tried to find it.  By now we knew that we were missing something so we kept driving around until we found the entrance. Without wasting any further time we paid the entrance fee and joined the next group for the walk across the swinging rope bridge.  Walking above the tree tops was exciting and nerve wrecking as you can’t help but wonder if the ropes could just snap at any given moment for the bridge to become a swing through the tree tops!

The walkway is very narrow only a plank placed on top of a ladder, so no more than a 30cm wide and constantly moving up and down as people move along.

Charlene was relieved when the bridge came to an end and we were back on solid ground.

Having finally got to do the Rainforest walk through the tree tops it was well worth the hunt, we then headed back to Cape Coast to see some British history as we visited one of the many British castles along the coast of Ghana.
